FYI: If you want 3 Walgreens gift cards, it's easiest to buy the max. of 3 all in 1 order. I had to go thru chat and get a special invoice after I bought 1 card on a first order and was unable to purchase 2 more in a second order. It was a pain, but the chat person was helpful.

I was having the same problem yesterday when I was buying toilet paper online. I thought maybe GC couldn't be used on TP, or maybe couldn't be combined with WAG10.

I just deleted my GC in Account now. Says the same thing during checkout on other products, even though I now don't have any GC under my account... Walgreen website is the worst in the world. Seriously, even worse than CVS. We will see if these idiots fix this glitch..........in 3 months

Warning. Buried inside their terms:

Can I redeem a Gift Card online?
No, your Walgreens Gift Card cannot be redeemed online at this time. Gift Cards can be used only for in store purchases of merchandise at participating Walgreens or Duane Reade locations in the United States, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

This basically means you can never use codes like WAG10 for store pick-up.

Had something similar happen to me and I called them up. They said the gift card balance gets a hold placed on it and should reset after a short time. However, I was never able to get it to work for an online order. On my next visit in person I tried using it and it scanned fine, no issues. They absolutely need to fix this in their system!

Second warning. Some stores are being instructed not to scan these cards. They are pushing back on alleged fraud. So now I'm sitting on useless cards.

Anyone successfully get them to scan on your phone?

Both Best Buy description and Walgreens actual gift card terms say that they can be used online (https://www.walgreens.com/topic/g...itions.jsp).
The reviews on Best Buy confirm that as well.
That Help section must be outdated and refer to legacy gift cards.
I mean, how eGift cards can be disallowed from online use? It would make no sense

They can't be used online. Try making a sample cart. They removed the place to enter your code. This is such a scam.

Walgreens GCs used to work fine online -- you can save up to 2 GCs to your online account

Right now the Payment Methods page shows "We are unable to provide your gift card/s balance at this time" so not sure what's going on -- last order paid with GC was April 8th

Website is dismal! Right now gift cards are not working on CVS website either but at least other payment options work. Walgreens website is so bad, I keep getting an error when trying to place an order. I can't even place a single order. Do they not want folks to shop online? The experience is terrible

This is such bs. Do they not understand what an eGift card is? I make sure I review bomb them in the surveys.
