FYI: Was $649 last Dec. + VA panel. IMO: Not worth the price, you can get a decent OLED monitor for this price range (under promo).
This monitor being not OLED is the entire reason I purchased it. Yes, if you are in the market for OLED, this isn't for you.
It is the only monitor I have seen with these specs and non-OLED.
For VA this looks great and I've been very happy with it. It's incremental over a 34" ultrawide but the extra size is great. Haven't noticed any ghosting or other VA issues.
I'm curious but is there a big difference between this 40' monitor and the 37' one? The 40' seems to be 5k and the 37' one is 4k?
I have a 32' 4k Samsung monitor the uj59 one and that monitor is very dull. It's the basic one on Amazon and best buy and the old popular one from a while back. It isn't height adjustable or anything like that. The other thing is because it's 32' 4k monitor and a flat monitor, I use a 6 foot folding table, even putting it as far back as I can on the table, it's hard to look at the corners of the monitor because of how big the monitor is.
I know Samsung has a 32' odyssey 4k curved monitor as well. Would any of the 32' 4k curved, 37' 4k curved or this 40' 5k curved be superior to the Samsung uj59 monitor I have? Now would you say there is a big difference between the this 40' one and the 37' one? I always felt that the 37' size is a bit awkward? To me, monitor sizes for 4k monitors should be 32' or 40'. 37' seems to be a bit strange? Is there a big difference between 37' and 40'? The 40' costs a good bit more. Do most agree a curved monitor is just better in general? It seems like it would be because looking at the corners and edges would be easier?

The 37" is 4k.
This 40" is a 4k ultrawide 21:9 version sometimes written as 5k2k...it's not 5k cuz 5k is still the normal 16:9 aspect ratio 5120×2880 not ultrawide.
Although hg4399 mentions that you can get oled...sure but not 4k ultrawide (5k2k) + 40" + $700 ??
Cheapest oled is $350 27" AOC while ultrawide can sure hover under $700 but they are still stuck at 1440p 34"...they are different beast and I myself avoid oleds like vegeto079.

Bought this last year because it was not OLED. I use it for general office work most of the time and I keep browsers and certain windows up all day so didn't want to have to manage burn-in. Been playing games on it lately and it looks great. I got it for around $600 after tax from Samsung. Blows away all the old monitors I've ever had. I like that the curve is not too much as well.
