The OnePlus Pad Go 2 is a 12 inch Android tablet that stands out for its 7 to 5 display, which gives more usable screen space for reading and multitasking than 16 to 10 designs. The Dimensity 7300 is described as decent for the price, with performance ahead of Samsung A11 class tablets and close to some lower midrange rivals. The main knocks are that $300 feels high next to faster iPad and Samsung options, and the WiFi model appears to lack microSD expansion in the USA. Update support also looks uncertain, making it a better fit for buyers who value the screen shape over top tier speed.

  • The 7:5 aspect ratio can provide more usable screen real estate than 16:10 displays on similar-sized tablets.

  • The tablet can still deliver decent performance for a $300-or-less purchase when using the Dimensity 7300 class chip.

  • The 7:5 layout can support comfortable media viewing without feeling deprived by black bars on larger 7:5 tablets.

  • The 7:5 format can offer a larger video playing area than 11-inch 16:10 displays based on personal comparison.

  • The tablet's SoC performance can fall short of iPad-class expectations at the $300 price point.

  • The tablet may lack a microSD card slot on some USA WiFi-only units, limiting expandable storage options.

  • Android sideloading restrictions starting in September 2026 may tighten app installation controls and could affect emulator workflows.

  • The deal can be weak versus alternatives that use higher-tier processors or different storage configurations at similar sale pricing.

I see this being the best deal right now for a tablet.

I prefer Oneplus to Samsung or Lenovo. With a Dimensity 7300... you are still getting decent performance. This chip is faster then Samsung's A11+ android tablet. It is also faster (about 10% faster) then Snap Dragon 6 Gen 1.

I understand this is not flag ship speeds, but show me a tablet that is $300 or less then is "faster" then this tablet, and i don't think you can... at least right now.

If you can handle the aspect ratio, I think this is a solid buy. The only tablet that I can think of getting instead of this one is the Google Pixel Tablet with the G2 chip... which is about 10% faster then the 7300 (this deal). When on sale the Pixel tablet can be found as cheap as $250.00.
The problem is that you can get faster performance for just a bit more if you don't mind Apple. An M3 iPad Air can be had for $100 more and is well worth it.

I'm afraid the ultra bright displays like 1600nits are going to cause cataracts in your eyes! It's like looking into the sun. Not a good for your eyes.
Well. I can actually read a book outside in the sun. But the truth is... more and more tablets are becoming super bright, such as the Tab S11 series and Honor just released a tablet that can do 2400nits (OLED). And also realized that the future is more nits.

For the same 12-inch, you have more viewing area (square inches screen real estate) with the 7:5 aspect ratio. Don't buy into the smaller black bars marketing ploy. The truth is the manufacturers can cut more displays by going 16:9 aspect ratio.
And you have a lot less viewing are when watching movies and TV shows... unless you count those LARGE BLACK LINES above and below your video as "more viewing area".

I hope you get the point... for media... it is not good.

Well that is just it... "if you don't mind apple".

I will make it brief, the addon for Firefox called, "Ublock Origin" is all I need to choose Android. Apple can not compete. There are a hundred other reasons but really, all you need is Ublock Origin as the reason why you must go to Android... it is that simple.

I don't have this 12-inch, but have a 13.2-inch 7:5 tablet. I never felt I was deprived viewing area in the middle, by the black bars. Never once. When you have a 12-inch or even better, 13-inch 7:5 or 4:3 tablet, you won't notice the video becoming smaller. It is not! You'll only have a very positive watching experience.

I have a 13.2-inch 7:5 tablet and two 11-inch 16:10 tablets. From my experience, the video playing area on a 13-inch 7:5 aspect ratio display is significantly bigger than on a 11-inch 16:10 display.

One more thing. 13-inch is about perfect. You don't want to use a 14.6-inch touch screen (Samsung tab S11 Ultra for example). Not because of the weight or portability. I carry a 17.3-inch Dell laptop just fine. It's because using a touch screen bigger than 13-inch, you'll move your shoulder and arm of the pointing hand when touching from one corner of the screen to another. Your shoulder and neck will get sore rather quickly. It sounds weird. You have to experience it to know. I think that's why Apple doesn't have a 14-inch Eyepad. They did their homework.

Like sunburn greatly increasing the risk of skin cancer, staring at ultra bright display will damage your eyes. It's not if or maybe. It is when.

It's the websites that offer free multi media but the popups are relentless. The only one I know that makes it work is Ublock Origin.

If you mean sites with live streams, I've been using Brave on them (not mobile though) and it works well.

Thing is...using Ublock Origin with Firefox... these sites work perfectly, like better then Netflix.

GitHub has the list... about two thousand different locations to stream from. Split by documentaries, sports, anime, cartoons, TV and movies, and even more.... Search on google... github free media heck yah and it should take you to the list.

So, Android has the best pop up blocker and Apple's does not even come close.

What AI says about the two... Ublock Origin on Android Firefox VS Brave on Apple.

The Comparison
Feature Firefox + uBlock Origin (Android) Brave (Apple/iOS)
Engine Gecko View: Allows full extension support. WebKit: Apple forces Brave to use Safari's "engine."
Blocking Power Full Cosmetic Filtering: Can hide any element on a page. Limited: Restricted by Apple's "Content Blocker" rules.
Script Control Can block specific scripts from running. Generally "all or nothing" for most sites.
Bypass Prevention Extremely high; catches "anti-adblock" popups. Good, but often gets "fooled" by new popup tech.

The next BIG difference between Android and Apple is Android has much better emulator software... so if you want to game. It is easy for me to download Switch games for free and to play them on my tablet using side joysticks... you just can't do this so easy with apple or your choices are MUCH more limited.

Besides those two things... if apple was the same as Android I would be a HUGE apple fanboy, but right now I have to stay at being a Android Fan boy.

AND... Apple is Way more expensive unless you are talking about the base model ipad.

Ipad is routinely sold for 299 and its faster. I know you meant something not as limited by the OS, but the fact that Apple can do this while being a premium brand makes the prospect of spending the same for a slower tablet from a lesser brand tough. I'd much sooner just spend the 499 for a macbook neo and not have any ipados limitations tbh but that's a different class of device.

I can never be an apple person due to a few reasons...

1. Ublock Origin (number one reason) with Firefox.
2. Emulators... they are MUCH better with Android such as Nintendo switch game emulators.
3. Paywall bypass extensions, Kodi, YouTube ReVanced, Chrome Extensions

But that is not the only thing. The apple store is a RIP OFF!!! I got my mom a ipad thinking it would be easier to use and she purchased about 50 books a year directly from Apple (my mom is NOT tech savy and lives in another state)... I noticed the price of her books were on average more then $10, this has now been fixed but for some strange reason Apple still ROUNDS UP... so a price of $13.10 on google is usually $13.99 or $14 on apple.

And while Apple has finally made a CHEAP laptop, macbook neo... I still have no interest.

ALSO, updates last much longer on Windows then Apple. Apple classifies products as "obsolete" after they have been off sale for more than 7 years. I will add that my FOURTEEN year old laptop still gets updates from Microsoft and works pretty damn good (i7 3rd gen).

ALSO since 2020 you can not upgrade the RAM or SSD for a apple laptop.

ALSO, while they have this super cheap price for their NEO, it can not stack up based on specs besides the CPU. No OLED screen, screen is at 60hz (why... ????), ONLY 8GB of RAM (destined to be not enough in the near future), 256GB hard drive (as if that is enough and if it is, you should have purchased a ipad IMHO,

Do you see my argument... There is NO 14 year old MacBook Pro getting updates (that is LONG GONE) but my 14 year old laptop STILL gets updates (will end this October).

You can upgrade your laptop sometimes with a microsoft and you can not with apple. And while the store sells RAM for $xx.xx Apple want 3 x $xx.xx for that upgrade making upgrades before you purchase STUPID expensive.

I tell my friends, you want to become rich... stop being an apple customer and move to PC... only exception is the ipad is true value, but nothing else... including the neo laptop that just came out.
