How's this one compare to the 1/2-in bad boy? I've heard folks rave about these newer M12s for folks that need to swap out seasonal tires.

Home Depot has this as well for $249 also with the 5ah battery. If you just prefer that retailer.

Amazing impact. This isn't an all-time low price, but a great deal nonetheless. I rarely use my 1/2" impact since buying this.

I just used my 3/8" to swap seasonal tires with a 1/2" adapter. Worked no problem. I also used it to remove a stubborn anode rod in my hot water heater! I couldn't believe it worked. I thought I was going to have to barrow a friend's 18V. I think this is in a league of its own for 12V and compact size.

I bought the M18 FUEL GEN-2 but realized I already have the 1/2" version, which is identical. I do need me a 3/8" impact, though... would this be a better replacement if I'm looking for portability/compactness?

From what I've read. The 3/8 and 1/2 inch are the same impact with different anvils. How I know this is because I bought the 3/8 on accident I wanted the 1/2....so I looked to see how much I was losing at it seems like I lost nothing but Anvil size
