Keep in mind the wind rating on this is not that high if you live in hurricane prone areas. You will be better off with a beefier build like a Pergolux or Bon Pergola although the price also increases accordingly.

I was quoted $1200 via Task Rabbit for a 10' x 20' Mirador. Ended up working with my father in-law over a weekend for ~6-8hrs overall

Yeah, I ended up building mine out with a cousin. Just be sure to have access to two ladders, a set of power tools, and a healthy dose of muscle. I had a Pergolux which is supposed to be super easy to build out and it still took a weekend and a couple of trips to the hardware store. One trip for the silicone sealant and anchor bolts; another for the stripped screw extractor.

we didn't need anything additional that wasn't in box, so sounds like Mirador might be more complete from that stand-point

with the louvres open shouldn't the wind just simply blow through it easy?

Yes. However, that assumes 1) You're around to open it when high winds come. 2) You remember to do so when you're looking to leave ahead of a storm.
