This desk is huge and deep. Most desks are half this wide and about a foot less deep.

In terms of materials used, it's no more "cheaply made" than any other standing desk.

However, the design constraints to get it shipped require the top be split into multiple pieces (someone above said 4) and that's what most people don't like.

You can buy this for the legs and source a solid top locally, but the legs by themselves cost between $150 and $180.

A finished top is going to run at least another $100 and may not give you the same dimensions.

There is a 10% off coupon with this particular item, bringing it down to $196. You win, SD. You made me buy a cheaper option vs four legged one. Good deal.

Promotional picture of a petite woman sitting on desk with three monitors is hilarious. If they wanted to really impress they would have had a large overweight person sitting on the desk.

What about this one? What is the difference? This one is cheaper and the seller is the same.

Also, from the comments, the desk has started to sagging down and not flat anymore for some people.

A fat guy wouldn't conjure the same images in your mind... Unless you are into that kind of thing.

Someone in the Amazon comments said they purchased this for under $150 only a few months ago, which is where I would expect the price to be normally. Not a slick deal.
