The Adventurer 5M is a fast, CoreXY starter printer that stands out for easy setup, self leveling, and solid print quality right out of the box. It is praised as a no fuss machine with wired and wireless networking, Orca slicer support, and reliable results on everything from simple models to car gauge pods. The main tradeoffs are its open frame design, which limits harder to print materials without an enclosure, and occasional support or firmware headaches. It is a strong single color workhorse if you want speed and simplicity more than multicolor features.

Common Questions (5)

  • Yes, an enclosure can be added with a cheap AliExpress kit and printed parts, and a camera can also be added. The main feature that cannot be added is the air filter, and an enclosure helps if you want to print more demanding materials.

  • Yes. It is largely the same CoreXY platform as the AD5X but without multi-material capability, so it makes sense if you only need single-color printing. The AD5X is better for automatic filament switching and multicolor, while the 5M is the cheaper, simpler option.

  • It usually includes only a small sample amount of filament, not extra full rolls. The sample is enough for several of the preloaded models at lower infill, but buying at least one PLA spool gives you room to practice and print beyond the demos.

  • Yes. Setup is described as removing a few screws, attaching the display, and letting the printer calibrate itself, then printing default models successfully with no issues. It is also repeatedly described as a strong beginner printer with minimal tinkering.

  • Yes. It works with Orca Slicer, and a random USB webcam can reportedly work right away when plugged into the screen's USB-A port. That makes it easier to monitor prints without buying Flashforge's camera kit.

Check if you have other coupons added on.

When I added it to cart and went to check out, the coupons didn't work. It showed used up or something, but I saw some auto discount was already bringing to that 141 area, so I just went with it.

My invoice shows as:
Subtotal: 155.60
Shipping: Free shipping
Multi-store coupon: -13.90 (141.70)
Additional charges (sales tax): 11.34
Total: 153.04

Kind of came back around to the same price. I'm not sure how the coupon was supposed to work, but it was around the quoted price of the post so it should be okay.

Yeah, maybe it was careless of me. I seem to have sacrificed one of my good % off higher than 100/150 dollar coupons instead of the one OP provided. But that message still might mean you have some coupons auto applied during checkout, so double check that.

I think the reason the price on these is so good is because of the public relations disaster that happened a few months ago when they said would report people using their printers for any pew pew stuff to law enforcement. They made it sound like they were monitoring what people printed on them. For $141 though I don't think you can go wrong, but just understand who you're dealing with, and maybe go check out their recent controversy.

I have this and the AD5X. I honestly prefer this one, it just works. Printed two gauge pods for cars over the weekend.
How did they come out, what filament did you use, and what STLs?

Please stop with this ignorant BS. For those who don't know, FF, along with all the other big 3D printer brands, was sent a threatening letter by the rather political NY AG. The latter basically was a threat that the company better not let people 3D print gun parts. FF posted that they didn't allow gun parts on their online system. But they don't do anything to actually stop or even check the files you print at home. Basically the company was trying to deal with an aggressive AG. The real concern should be the threat of mandated detection software, not FF.
FF was the first and only one to comply. Their rhetoric didnt just suggest compliance, but instead insinuated a deeper alignment with anti 2a efforts.

Just read the letter yourself. Theres no way to interpret it otherwise. It doesn't read like a "oh our arm was twisted and we are begrudgingly complying" letter. It was stern, forward, and fully anti 2a.

Always wondering what makes people recommend this printer over the Kobra 3 Combo, which gets you an "AMS" for just a little more money. Genuine question; anyone have feedback on what the Flashforge does better?
6 letters: CoreXY.

sooooo much faster and more stable. for those who don't know, instead of the bed slinging all around shaking your tall print off the bed, the nozzle does all the moving.if you want multicolor, get the AD5X for ~$230 from Ali

That's the reason I didn't pre-order the creator 5 pro. Hoping it'll drop way down in price by the end of the year like the 5m and 5x did.

Also, cashback is 14% today and new coupons started.
