Coming from an Ender 3 was night and day. Very minimal tinkering to get some very solid prints at a good speed.
I don't have experience with Bambu or other more expensive printers and I'm sure there's some improvements as you move up to that range, but for the price you can't beat this.
Also, cashback is 14% today and new coupons started.
Community Reviews
The Adventurer 5M is a fast, CoreXY starter printer that stands out for easy setup, self leveling, and solid print quality right out of the box. It is praised as a no fuss machine with wired and wireless networking, Orca slicer support, and reliable results on everything from simple models to car gauge pods. The main tradeoffs are its open frame design, which limits harder to print materials without an enclosure, and occasional support or firmware headaches. It is a strong single color workhorse if you want speed and simplicity more than multicolor features.
Common Questions (5)
Yes, an enclosure can be added with a cheap AliExpress kit and printed parts, and a camera can also be added. The main feature that cannot be added is the air filter, and an enclosure helps if you want to print more demanding materials.
Yes. It is largely the same CoreXY platform as the AD5X but without multi-material capability, so it makes sense if you only need single-color printing. The AD5X is better for automatic filament switching and multicolor, while the 5M is the cheaper, simpler option.
It usually includes only a small sample amount of filament, not extra full rolls. The sample is enough for several of the preloaded models at lower infill, but buying at least one PLA spool gives you room to practice and print beyond the demos.
Yes. Setup is described as removing a few screws, attaching the display, and letting the printer calibrate itself, then printing default models successfully with no issues. It is also repeatedly described as a strong beginner printer with minimal tinkering.
Yes. It works with Orca Slicer, and a random USB webcam can reportedly work right away when plugged into the screen's USB-A port. That makes it easier to monitor prints without buying Flashforge's camera kit.

How often do you find the 220mm bed size vs the larger 250 to 256 mm becoming a limiter?
I've been helping my nephew with an ender 3 v3 se he got recently, but coming from a Bambu P2S personally, honestly, the ender has been a bit of a pain. No network connection, no app, subpar leveling (need to tweak z offset), slower print speeds, bad stringing with PETG, and so many bed adhesion issues. I bought him a glacier plate and PEI plate. The PEI plate seems to help quite a bit on the first 2 prints I've tried, but I've had like 20 of 30 or so prints fail due to bed adhesion issues on the included plate.
Thinking of getting this for him, but worried the plate size will be another limitation that has me regretting later.
Below is a quick snapshot of past sale prices. Obviously, there are no guarantees these exact deals will come back, but many of them tend to repeat. At the very least, this gives a rough idea of what features you can expect at different price points if you're willing to wait.
Also worth noting: for Bambu Labs printers, I'm effectively treating the brand as a "feature." They've consistently been more reliable and beginner-friendly, which is worth a bit of a premium.

Entry Level Printers:
If you're just trying to get started as cheaply as possible, the ~$90 range exists—but it comes with tradeoffs. Around $140–$200 is where printers start to feel much more "plug and play." Above that, you're mostly paying for convenience, enclosure, multicolor, or ecosystem advantages.
Once you start climbing towards and beyond $500 this is where you will start seeing things like the P2S, X1C, entry tool changers, entry Prusa printers, etc.
