This is a great deal on this XR version. You usually see the "Atomic" version on sale for this price. I wish I didn't already have the Atomic.

With a slide switch, once the tool is on, then it stays on until that switch is flipped off. With a paddle switch, the tool is powered when the paddle is depressed, and is turned off when the paddle is released. So if you drop a grinder that's on, the paddle switch will just turn off while the slide switch will just keep running. Slide switch grinders are good for applications where you need to keep the grinder on for long periods of time, but the paddle switch will be the safer of the two.
