Community Reviews

Oakley Holbrook XL sunglasses are a classic, roomy frame that fits larger heads well and has long been a go to style for everyday wear and driving. The build and Prizm polarized lenses get strong praise for sharp color and sunny day performance, and Fuse replacement lenses are described as a solid aftermarket option. The main knocks are that the $89 bundle can be non polarized depending on the exact variant, the included bag is only a soft pouch, and a few pairs showed rough frame flashing or lens cracking. A good fit if you want the XL Holbrook look and check the lens version carefully.

  • Oakley fans who are open to using Fuse replacement lenses because commenters say the Fuse replacement lenses are "fantastic" and they've used a "free no questions asked replacement" when needed.

    Rooster286lobuzz311

  • people with a larger or "fatter" head who want a Holbrook XL fit because the XL size "fit nicely" for someone with a bigger head.

    SlickMarmot535

  • drivers who want Prizm polarized lenses for sunny conditions because the polarized Ruby Prizm lenses were described as "wonderful" for driving and bright weather.

    Deal Explorer

  • buyers who want a soft storage option rather than a hard case because the included "bag" is not a hard case (it's just a soft bag).

    spittlbm

  • people who specifically need polarized sunglasses right away because at $89 one commenter noted the pair "isn't polarized" and expected to replace lenses later with polarized Fuse lenses.

    lobuzz311

  • buyers who are picky about lens durability and want to avoid potential defects because one commenter reported a micro-crack after only a few wears (seemingly from slight frame flex) and needed a replacement.

    testuser123

  • people who want a hard case for travel because the included "bag" is not a hard case, so travel/storage is limited to soft bag protection.

    spittlbm

  • buyers who are sensitive to fit and think XL may be too big because one commenter said the XL was "a bit too big" for their face (they preferred the regular Holbrooks).

Solid price on these. In for 2 colors.
They're not polarized at $89, but they will need a lens replacement at some point, so they will get polarized Fuse lenses.

Thanks OP! Not really a fan of any of the color options, but price was too good to pass up. These have been my go to sunglasses for almost 10 years, love them!

Fuse amp lenses are fantastic. As good or better than Oakley OEM IMO. One free no questions asked replacement too which I use every time.

If you have a giant fat head, like someone I know, these fit nicely.

One of my favorite frames, I grabbed the only 89 dollar polarized style (the matte blue color shift) a lot of them are higher prices than the OP but still pretty good for this model. I've about worn out my midnight collection pair, need to get new lenses at least for them which stinks because they're the 24k polars which are hard to find in aftermarkets.

The description up where you select the model is usually the most accurate, the link goes to "Blue Steel / Prizm Deep Water Polarized" so they should be polarized in that case. The problem is they use the same generic description for a group of models that have different lenses and you end up with contradictions. Amazon isn't the only seller like that.

I have the regular Holbrooks in Matt Black/Prizm Ruby. I thought the XL's were a bit too big for my face. The build quality is good and the polarized ruby lenses are wonderful. Just make sure that you don't get a pair with rough flashing on the frame's plastic. I had to return a pair and order another. I love how this color lense makes things look on a sunny day; whether you're looking at the green leaves on the trees, the green ocean, or the blue sky. All of these colors come to life. They're great for driving, as well.

They do. For example https://www.oakley.com/en-us/prod...8392327031.
The link in OPs post goes to one which is prizm polarized. It looks like they are all prizm polarized?

I have the metal Holbrook with the prizm polarized sapphire and they are my favorite lenses I own. In general the metal ones look slick, I can't really recommend them since I had some issues. I have Ray-Ban Chromance polarized which are good lenses but prefer the prizm polarized.
