I'm a professional mechanic so they get used daily... why do I own so many sets, you ask? So that I'm not scattering them all over the place. They're in my truck, in my shop, in my garage, in my car and I have spare sets to replenish any pieces that might get lost.
I beat the crap out of these things with my Milwaukee 1600lb/ft impact (including the universal joint) and haven't had anything fail me yet.
All in I own the eight sets for LESS than one incomplete "master mechanic" set from the big names... so what if the ratchet won't hold up (mine haven't had a problem yet after running them over, dropping them and even using them as a hammer) just invest in a quality 1/2 ratchet... these sets at this price are no-brainers... buy them.

This 65 piece impact socket set stands out as a heavy, low cost beater kit for home, garage, and weekend work. The sockets are thick walled and have held up to hard use with breaker bars and high torque impacts, and the included ratchet has also survived rough treatment. Shipping has been fast from U.S. distribution. Main drawbacks are the oily coating, strong odor on some sets, and easy rusting if stored in damp conditions, so dry indoor storage matters.
Common Questions (5)
The sockets are lightly oiled and can rust easily if stored in a humid or wet area, so dry indoor storage is important. Arrival odor varies: some sets have a strong factory smell that needs several days of off-gassing, while others have only a slight odor; wiping them down or degreasing can help.
They are described as Chrome Vanadium rather than true Chrome Moly impact sockets, so they are not the same as premium impact sets. Even so, they have been used daily with a Milwaukee 1600 lb-ft impact, breaker bars, and even around 1400 lb-ft torque without reported failures, making them suitable as a tough beater set for home or shop use.
The included 1/2-inch ratchet is lightly oiled and may not be the best part of the kit for hard use or car-kit storage. A separate quality 1/2-inch ratchet is a common recommendation, while the sockets themselves are the main value.
At around $40, it is repeatedly described as a strong value for a beater set, especially because it includes both SAE and metric sockets plus a ratchet. It is also far cheaper than a Quinn set on coupon, which was cited at about $100 and without ratchets.
The set is very heavy at about 32 pounds, so it is not ideal as a carry-around kit in the case. It is better suited to a shop, garage, truck, or other place where it can stay stored and used in one spot.
