Anker's Nano 45W USB C charger stands out for its built in display, which shows real time charging wattage and can help confirm whether a cable or device is actually pulling the expected power. The charger itself is described as working well, and the screen automatically turns off after a minute of inactivity. The main drawback is placement, since the display can be hard to see depending on outlet orientation or if the charger sits low behind furniture. The screen also feels unnecessary to some, especially when similar charging data is already available elsewhere.

  • Cable testers who need to spot weak USB-C leads, because the screen makes slow charging cables easy to identify without extra apps.

  • People charging at eye-level outlets, because the screen is easiest to read when the charger faces outward instead of toward the wall.

  • Desk users who want to verify charging wattage at a glance, because the display shows how much power is actually being sent to the device.

I don't see the point for the screen but to each own. I wouldn't pay extra for the screen.
The benefit to me: I can check how fast it's actually charging.
Common scenario for me: I have some crap USBC cables and some good ones. If I use a crap one, my XX device might charge at 20W. If I use a good one, it tops out at 100W (with a good charger). Having an LCD/LED readout means I can monitor and instantly confirm the viability of the cables in use.

That seems valid case but one time to test cables. I usually use app to test all cables and get rid of them once I find out they are slow charging.

Looks like android only. I like this (a charger with a watt gui) because it requires nothing. How would ampere test a cable that pulls over the android phones capabilities ?

You are right I just used it to eliminate slow charging cables. For others I used think pads vantage software that tells you what wattage it's charging. I guess the screen has its uses but again still depends on device you are charging, right?

Yes, and many of those higher power devices themselves will tell you what the power usage is. I fully get it - duplication of an existing function. That said, the GUI on the charger is still useful, if not required.

useless unless the charger is at eye level on a desk but most outlets are closer to the floor and most chargers are connected some sort of a power strip sitting on the floor or behind furniture. could be useful on the outlets above the kitchen counter or on hotel nightstands but then again, you'd have to touch it to wake it up again but at that point why not just touch the phone itself. its basically a pointless gimmick but hey some people think its cool and it sells.
FAQ:
Why does the screen turn off automatically instead of staying on?
To reduce light pollution and extend the screen's lifespan, it automatically turns off after 1 minute of inactivity.

But can it run Doom?
Unfortunately they have really scaled back the MCU. It's only 33MHz compared to the 150MHz on the desktop model that runs doom flawlessly.

Personally, I wouldn't waste the money. I have one and while it charges fine, the reality is that most of us don't have our charger anywhere that we can see it and a screen on it. You can get the same charger without the screen for $10 less. I'd go that route now.
