The benefit to me: I can check how fast it's actually charging.
Common scenario for me: I have some crap USBC cables and some good ones. If I use a crap one, my XX device might charge at 20W. If I use a good one, it tops out at 100W (with a good charger). Having an LCD/LED readout means I can monitor and instantly confirm the viability of the cables in use.

It's like $2 off, but you can get it for about $22-25 pretty often on TikTok Shop with coupons.

Anker's Nano 45W USB C charger stands out for its built in display, which shows real time charging wattage and can help confirm whether a cable or device is actually pulling the expected power. The charger itself is described as working well, and the screen automatically turns off after a minute of inactivity. The main drawback is placement, since the display can be hard to see depending on outlet orientation or if the charger sits low behind furniture. The screen also feels unnecessary to some, especially when similar charging data is already available elsewhere.

  • The built-in screen can help you monitor how much power the charger is sending to the device.

    BryanB6613zylocblast

  • The wattage readout can help verify real charging speed when testing different USB-C cables.

    dcliveRide_The_Sky

  • The charger's output ripple is discussed as a power-quality characteristic where lower ripple is generally preferred.

    CrankyBastardCrankyBastard

  • The screen can be useful even when some devices already report power usage.

    dclive

  • The screen visibility can be poor depending on plug orientation and outlet placement.

    Grizzy21sidewinder33625

  • The built-in screen feature may feel unnecessary because some people would not pay extra for it.

    Ride_The_SkyFreakinDealWithIt

  • The charger's ripple claim is presented as a comparison that may not match other adapters' reported ripple ranges.

    Gold_DiggerCrankyBastard

  • The screen's usefulness can be limited by auto shutoff after inactivity and by outlets being hard to see.

Have this and really like it - works well. Only consideration to keep in mind is because of the screen location, you can't really see screen if you have the prongs set so that the usb-c port is opposite the plug/ wall outlet.

Why not. Couldn't you just flip it and the screen would face up?

Totally. In that position, if plugged into say a wall with the screen facing outwards, The usb-c port would be on one of the sides of the charger though. Just wanted to note that in case someone didn't realize it.

Are smart chargers actually secure? The more "intelligent" they get, the more I wonder if they introduce risks like data access or malware.

I don't see the point for the screen but to each own. I wouldn't pay extra for the screen.

Worth noting that $30 has been the price since launch. I don't think I've ever seen it higher
