Most people are just amatuers when it comes to looking at the time. You have to be trained and certified to become a professional time keeper.

What's amazing is 60 years from now the Tissot will still be working while that Galaxy 8 will be long gone.

My pen will outlast my smartphone with a note-taking app by decades. Yet, I'm not particularly inclined to pay flagship smartphone prices for a pen.

Paying hundreds (or worse, thousands) of dollars for a clock on your wrist with no other function is insanity.

You can drive a 2008 Ford escort or a 2026 Mercedes E series. Both will drive you from a to b. If you cannot afford a Mercedes or just don't care about what you drive enjoy your ford. But some people are willing to drive a luxury car. All preference.
With that said....it is a nice watch. Will I buy it? Nahhhh
But I wouldn't drive an old escort or a new Mercedes either. That's why I am wearing a Seiko and driving a 2025 Camry. Happy medium on both.

Yeah, but during the Galaxy 8's life I got my heart rate measured, my steps in, and my music streamed through it, with an occasional phone call and text. The wifi connection on the Tissot is TERRIBLE! Big Grin

It's jewelry for men. If that's not your thing, you can say that. Maybe it's irrational, but guys have spent plenty more than $725 to have something pretty to look at.

Ironically though, the purely mechanical Tissot has double the battery life
