Lenovo is trying to trick consumers into this being a deal.
Gen 4 never made it to the U.S.
Gen 5 is supposedly U.S. bound in June.
This is not a deal, this is a low key attempt to offload old hardware and try to confuse customers into thinking they are getting a bargain.
Community Reviews
The Legion Tab Gen 3 is a compact 8.8 inch Android gaming tablet that stands out for snappy performance, a very good display, strong battery life, and easy portability. It is especially appealing for gaming and emulation, with Fortnite running smoothly and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 still seen as capable for Windows and mobile gaming. The main drawback is the missing microSD card slot, which matters for emulation and storage. Software support and update longevity are also a concern for some, though Lenovo's track record offers some reassurance.
Common Questions (5)
No. This model does not include a microSD card slot, which is a key tradeoff versus Samsung tablets and the imported Gen 4. That matters most if you store emulation files, media, or offline games on expandable storage.
Yes. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, 165Hz display, and lightweight 8.8-inch size make it a strong gaming tablet, and it can run Fortnite smoothly. It is also described as a stable choice for emulation, especially if you want a compact Android device.
The Legion Tab Gen 3 is the better pick for gaming and compact size, while the Galaxy Tab S9 offers an OLED screen, microSD expansion, and Samsung features like Good Lock. For reading, streaming, and PS Remote Play, the S9 is often favored if those extras matter more than gaming performance.
Yes. The thread mentions pricing around $360.99 after Lenovo coupons, $371.99 with an ID.me discount, and additional cashback offers such as Capital One Savor or Venture on Lenovo.com. Some buyers also used AliExpress coupons plus Rakuten cashback to get similar pricing on the Gen 4.
It is currently on Android 16, and Android 17 is expected to be the last major OS update. Security support is believed to run for about four years, so it should still have some patch coverage after the final Android version.

iPad mini is the best tablet at this size, but if you are in the market for a similar Android tablet, there is not really a better choice.
