I'm not really a sunglasses person, but I had a couple pairs of nice-ish Ray-Bans I wore from my mid 20s to my mid 30s. Then I hit a work anniversary, and none of the gift options were great, so I picked a pair of Costas with polarized glass lenses (they call it 580G). They're better at blocking light, and the combo of polarized and glass instead of plastic makes things noticeably sharper/more detailed. They're the only ones I've used since.
I'd never pay full price for them, but I think they're significantly better than the the pairs with non-polarized polycarbonate lenses I've had. Of course, if weight matters, plastic lenses will be better.
I used to buy polarized Oakleys and Ray-Bans, I'm not sure if the Ray-Bans used glass lenses but the Oakleys were definitely plastic. Then I got some Costas with the 580g polarized glass lenses and man the clarity was night and day compared to the other two. I highly recommend Costas with the 580g lenses. In fact the Costa Piper I have I bought from woot back in 2021.
