I almost never comment, but I use this in my classroom as an example of products sold that aim to use lack of knowledge to spereate money from a consumer. The pressure inside a closed cylinder is consistent regardless of how much liquid refrigerant is inside of it. Whether you have 20 lb of liquid propane or 1 oz of liquid propane in the tank, your pressures remain constant for the given temperature. The only thing this does is when you're cooking burgers on the grill and your flame dies out, you take a look at the gauge and it confirms what you already knew, that you're out of gas. The only way to actually know how much you have left is using its weight, so like a fish scale that measures the weight of the cylinder. Just my 2 cents Smilie

Depending on your needs, there's a "splitter" version of these from many other brands. I've had very good luck with ours.

I like them as you can use it with just one device hooked up, but when we go camping I can split our tank to two hookups (grill & camping stove etc).

The issue with these is that gasses expand to fill space with the pressure being dependent on temperature, so as long as there is any liquid propane left in the tank the pressure will be basically the same between a mostly empty and full tank. This means that until the tank is just full of gaseous propane as the very last amount is dispensed, the gauge will read full and then rapidly drop. The proper way to measure the fullness is a scale or… just pick up the tank and shake it around to listen for the propane sloshing around inside.

For no name brands $10 seems to be price for this style.

Anyone have any idea if the style gauge with different readings based on temperature is worth it?

I don't BBQ as much in spring or winter but this would change the accuracy of the reading?

Given that it's just adding different markings to the gauge, you could probably just keep that in mind when using the flame king one. On a hot day it will read a little fuller. Quality wise, I'm guessing they aren't much different between the dozens of brands listed and the flame king. I do really like my newer flame king tank with built in gauge. They run a promo on their website and I needed a 2nd tank so I can always keep one full one as a backup.

My old weber had a gauge on the rack you would sit the tank on which was nice. This will also get the job done well
