IMJOSHV (Man Vs Cars)
Rating: Poor / Dead Last
In a head-to-head comparison against Armor All Oracle, Jay Leno's Garage, and standard Armor All, Josh ranked Chemical Guys Total Interior last.
• Performance: He found it to be "very streaky" and noted that it left a "slime" or residue behind rather than a clean, natural finish.
• Cleaning Power: He noted it struggled to cut through actual grime compared to the other products.
• Packaging: He specifically criticized the bottle's spray nozzle, which leaked significantly during his test, calling it a "huge downfall" for the most expensive product in the lineup.
Obsessed Garage (Matt Moreman)
Rating: Not Recommended / "Graduated"
Matt Moreman famously does not carry or recommend Chemical Guys. His "rating" is essentially that the brand is a marketing company first and a chemical company second.
• Philosophy: He advocates for "graduating" from mass-market brands like Chemical Guys to professional-grade lines like CarPro (InnerQD), Koch-Chemie (Pol Star), or P&S (Express Interior).
• Verdict: He generally views their massive product catalog as redundant and confusing, preferring simple, high-performance chemicals that don't rely on scents or colors to sell.
Pan The Organizer
Rating: Beginner / Entry-Level
While Pan has featured Chemical Guys in the past, he frequently omits them from his "Best of" or "Battle of" videos in favor of more advanced formulas.
• The "Battle": In his recent "Battle of Interior Detailers," he didn't even include Chemical Guys, choosing to test CarPro InnerQD, DIY Detail Interior Clean & Protect, and P&S Swift instead.
• General View: He treats the brand as a good starting point for people who want a "one-bottle solution" from a local big-box store, but he personally prefers products with better anti-static properties and UV protection, such as those from CarPro or DIY Detail.
Cars with Kiev (Keiv)
Rating: Mixed / Lean toward P&S
This channel is often cited by enthusiasts for providing "no-nonsense" info, but "Kiev" typically favors the P&S lineup—specifically P&S Express Interior Cleaner—over Chemical Guys.
• Sentiment: Community discussions surrounding his channel often place Chemical Guys in the "over-hyped" category. Like Obsessed Garage, the consensus here is that you can get better results for less money by using concentrated cleaners like P&S or Koch-Chemie.
Thanks for this comprehensive post.
I actually use these bottles for other things and I like them.
An ok deal if your car(s) gets dirty, I rarely find myself using anywhere near this amount of product on the inside of 3 of my vehicles 2 of which are daily driven.
I think most people who are buying a gallon of any product can likely find better options out there
