I know around here, if someone doesn't like a deal, just scoff and move on but I had to chime in - how the hell did we get to a point where a trash can is $100+?
Stainless steel has been around for a very long time and should have decreased in pricing at this point.
Don't get me wrong, we should be a civilized society and dispose of waste in the most hygienic and efficient way to keep the population thriving.
I just can't fathom needing a $100 trashcan which will just hold a plastic bag lol

the plastic version (13 gallon) of this trash can is $55. I know because I bought it years ago for $25 and the lid hinge is now failing. Was looking to replace it with same but $55 is beyond bonkers pricing for a plastic trash can. $99 (for metal) is even worse imo

They do come with 5 yr warranty and I read that failing part is $20 or something to replace

I paid a very similar can for $29 in 2019. The prices of these kind of stuffs hike insanely as everything else instead of my income. Really frustrated with the life standard in this nation nowadays.

I agree that this is expensive, but why would stainless steel go down in price? Raw materials don't tend to get cheaper over time.

If you don't understand Simplehuman, just move on. It's not complicated. They're a premium brand that designs specialized, high‑quality products, and their pricing reflects that. If that doesn't make sense to you, this isn't the product for you.
