Anker's 6 port 250W GaN charging station stands out for powering several devices from one compact hub, with a screen that shows exact output and app controls for scheduling ports or limiting current. It has been used successfully for multiple Chromebooks, and the USB C and USB A mix adds flexibility for phones, tablets, and smaller gadgets. The main caveats are the app and Wi Fi features, which have been described as unreliable, and the unit's 1.5 pound weight makes it less appealing for travel. A practical desk or common area charger if the smart features are not essential.
Common Questions (5)
Full functionality can require the app for port configuration and scheduling. USB-A ports still charge without it, but some USB-C devices may not work as expected until the ports are configured in the app.
It can handle multiple devices well, including charging four kids' Chromebooks at once. The unit is also described as solid and extremely solid for everyday multi-device charging.
Its main value is reducing clutter, showing exact power on the display, and allowing current limiting or scheduled port control. Cheaper options were mentioned, including a refurb for $69 shipped and a UGREEN 200W 8-port charger for $69.98.
It reportedly does not get too hot during charging. One user specifically noted no noticeable heat issue, including while planning to use it for warehouse charging of PDAs and tablets.
It weighs about 1.5 lb, which can be too hefty for travel. It may be better suited to a desk or common-area setup than a carry-on charger.
