Anker's 6 port 250W GaN charging station stands out for powering several devices from one compact hub, with a screen that shows exact output and app controls for scheduling ports or limiting current. It has been used successfully for multiple Chromebooks, and the USB C and USB A mix adds flexibility for phones, tablets, and smaller gadgets. The main caveats are the app and Wi Fi features, which have been described as unreliable, and the unit's 1.5 pound weight makes it less appealing for travel. A practical desk or common area charger if the smart features are not essential.

  • Controllable output helps limit current for devices that negotiate poorly.

  • The charger can schedule individual ports on and off using the companion app.

  • The display shows the exact power being sent to connected devices.

  • Charging in a common area can be simplified by using multiple long USB-C cables for guests and family.

  • Full functionality reportedly requires the companion app, and some USB-C devices may not work until configured.

  • The companion app and Wi‑Fi features reportedly are unusable, and customer service support reportedly was poor.

  • The unit can be too heavy for travel and may trigger slow-charge warnings on some laptops.

  • Some buyers question the value of the premium price and worry about single-point failure versus using multiple chargers.

You have to use their app to get full functionality. I tried to charge a couple different flashlights, and a fan from the USB-C ports, and it wouldn't work. Anker said I had to try to use their app to configure those ports, and then they might work. They would charge from the USB-A ports. But I returned it. There's a 200W model that doesn't use the app that seems like it would work (and it's much less expensive, too). I bought a Sabrent 8-port unit. It's got plenty of power but is much bulkier.
would you mind sharing which product of sabrent you got instead of this anker?

A single charger means less clutter if you're charging multiple devices at once. The screen is nice because it shows you exactly how much power is being sent. You might not care, but many people do. There are times you want to fast charge, but it's healthier to slow charge. Some devices also don't negotiate power really well (such as retro handhelds) and being able to limit current is ideal. This charger has both USB-C and USB-A, too.
... or you can use a lower rated charger and accomplish the same thing? I charge my Pixel with a 15 watt charger overnight and the phone has the capability to charge at 25. watts. But to each his own wallet I suppose.

Same price for 6+ months. Also the app and wifi are unusable. Reached out to customer service and it was terrible. Unfortunately, out of the return window or it would have gone back.
