Product Description:
  • LED display screen allows for easy temperature setting and reading in Fahrenheit, enhancing convenience to maintain perfect conditions, ensuring reliable and consistent hatch success with minimal effort need to buy an additional temperature hygrometer to monitor the incubator.
  • Automatic egg turning system, mimicking natural conditions (Optional automatic turning frequency: once every 60, 120, or 180 minutes). This improves hatch success by turning eggs at the right intervals and stopping three days before hatching to prevent over-turning.
  • External water filling system allows you to add water without opening the egg incubator, ensuring a stable humidity level throughout the incubation cycle, and improving the hatching success rate.
  • Built-in candling feature that allows you to check the embryos during the incubation process, helping you to monitor their development and identify any potential problems at each stage.

This 18 egg incubator is aimed at hatching fertilized eggs, with auto turning, temperature and humidity control, and a transparent dome for watching progress. It has been used successfully for chickens, quail, ostrich eggs, and even balut style eggs, and the larger capacity is handy for hobby batches. The main caution is that grocery store eggs usually will not hatch, especially if they have been washed or refrigerated, so fresh local fertilized eggs work better. Temperature setup also matters, with 99.5 degrees and a steady calibration check coming up often.

  • Refrigerated eggs can kill embryos even when eggs are fertilized.

  • Promo codes can fail at checkout with an error stating the code is not valid.

  • Store-bought eggs may be unsuitable because washing removes the bloom and increases contamination risk.

  • Temperature readings can run about 2°F lower than the incubator setpoint once stable.

Most hobbyists will only own a few chickens. This thing holds 18 eggs at once. That's a lot of f'ing chickens in just one round.
Assuming they all hatch. Depending on where you sourced your fertilized eggs from and how they were handled, the failure rate can be pretty high even if you do everything correctly.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

Some of these posts are hilarious. It is entirely possible that you've eaten fertilized eggs before, and there's no federal law requiring commercially sold eggs to be unfertilized. Most commercial operations don't intermingle roosters and hens, but occasionally smaller free range and organic operations have a rooster or two mixed in with the hens. Local farm eggs are the most likely to have a rooster in the mix, so you might be eating fertilized eggs if you buy local. There's no difference in flavor, nutrition, etc if they're fertilized (despite some people believing fertilized eggs have more vitamins, protein, etc).
As for hatching grocery store bought eggs, your chances of success are astronomically low. Even if the eggs were somehow fertilized, refrigeration will kill the embryo.

It's not for cooking eggs. Just incubating fertilized eggs for hatching or balut. People around here sell balut eggs for about $1 each, mainly to the Asian people at the nail salon lol.
How do people eat balut, yuck

What do you guys do with the chicks after hatching? Curious.

The kids can watch the cute furry chicks hatch and they can play with them. After watching them grow, they can use a hatchet to chop their heads off and eat their once little furry friends.

Not sure if this thread got so many upvotes for the comments or for the deal. Who knew so many SDers were raising chickens?
