I was one of those people. No one will replace it. To return the unit, you either have to drop it off at a fedex shipping center (not a standard store) or have FedEx schedule a pickup 2-3 business days in advance.

To add: because the unit is labeled as "restored" Midea told me their warranty doesn't cover for missing pieces and I would have to purchase the missing part.

When I took mine in to a Walmart, they said they cannot accept it (even with the box) because 1) they do not accept market place items 2) fed ex does not come to pick up items. The manager had to call fed ex. I took it to a regular FedEx and they said because it has the hazard sign on the box- they cannot accept it. Worst return experience ever.

I have one. Dual hose is the way to go, though 'portable' is a bit generous. These things weigh a ton and have the flimsiest, most stupidly designed plastic parts for attaching to the window, that they'll likely break and you'll have to fix something yourself with screws and latches. I did all this because I was using it for my office on the first floor and didn't feel comfortable leaving it set up in the window permanently for security reasons.

Still, beats having a hot room. And if you're on a second floor and don't mind leaving it attached permanently, it's not a bad solution.

Be careful. Bought two of these last time they were on sale. Both were busted to hell. Support said its "reburbished". But it looked and smelled like it had been to Nam and back.

also was missing parts and the remotes were not the original as pictured remotes. midena support is garbage and just says oh well.

Last year it was the exact same topic. Its a hit or miss. I got mine. Not a single scratch,and no missing parts, no smell, no damage during shipping. Other customers got the opposite experience.

I bought one of these last week. It arrived Friday. Unit is an excellent condition, minus a small scratch or two. Filter looked like it was never used. It was missing the sliding widow attachment (3 pieces). I emailed Midea Friday night, got a response from the over the weekend and the part already arrived yesterday. Probably one of the best customer service experiences I have had.
Also, you can return this to the store. Once I saw my missing pieces I initiated a return. Even the return instructions say to return it to the store. Just an FYI if you are on the fence.
Really happy with this purchase!!!

Got two. Returning two. One made a funky noise when turned on; the other was delivered with the box destroyed and upside down, missing all accessories.

It seems Midea give different answers, sometimes they say will not send any parts, other times they do. In my case, I contacted them yesterday via the Contact the Seller link in Walmart.com's product page and received a reply within a day stating they cannot send the parts and to return the AC. I will probably return mine, it's just for backup so I can wait for it to go on clearance at Costco. The $249 I paid for it is pretty good but it has basically no warranty and I'm missing the remote and some other items I can mostly do without. Now lets see if I run into store return issues like some have reported. I'd be glad to drive it to Fedex or UPS, both are as close to me as a Walmart store, but those options are not available.
