I get a 35% off coupon if I switch to Subscribe and Save. Total price with tax is even lower ($9.33). For some reason web site won't let me upload an image of my S&S checkout screen.
Sweet deal. I did get the coupon. I use a Merkur 34C that I have had for a couple decades now.
These are a great blade. I bought a couple hundred very recently and they were made in Russia which is generally preferred by most.
Gillette Nacet 100 pack for $8.00 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007FQFIK4
100 blades is usually enough to last people 1-3 years depending on their hair and shaving frequency.
I went through a bunch of brush and soap foams when I was new to DE shaving. But, for the past 15 years I have just used canned foam, a DE razor and DE blade. Shaves are fast and smooth once you get a hang of it. I felt using fancy shave creams was fun, but ultimately I just wanted to get through my morning routine faster with a can. Once I started using the can I realized the canned stuff worked perfectly.
If you are on the fence, this is a great deal to try DE shaving, blade changes are super easy with the butterfly mechanism found on this safety razor.
I get less irritation, a lower price per shave, and back when I was young and single, the girls who spent the night always commented on my shaving stuff in the bathroom lol.
PS: If you want an even cheaper DE razor to try one of these out, LORD L127 is a good DE razor selling for $5.25 right now. It has a shave head like the Merkur I use. I got one for travel and it was great, just a bit lighter since the handle is not as weighted as my usual Merkur 34C. https://www.amazon.com/LORD-Sterl...ref=sr_1_1
I get so much less irritation from shaves after switching to a DE safety razor and I've saved so much money that I get kind of excited when people have the opportunity to discover it for themselves. The YouTube videos make it seem way too complicated and some of these guys make it their hobby or something, I don't get that into it. I just shave. If you are apprehensive because it seems like a lot to deal with, just buy a can of Barbasol shaving cream, a DE razor like the Wilkinson, and just remember not to push down as hard as you do with your 4 blade cartridge razor. I like Gillette Platinum, Gillette Blue Silver, Gillette Nacet and I used to like Astra but the last pack I got I didn't care for as much. A bunch of production is being pulled out of Russia right now, so that's why I recommend stocking up on the Gillette Nacet blades I posted because I know the ones they sent me a couple weeks ago were made in Russia. They just seem to last a little longer and be sharper and smoother to me and had been a safe recommendation. I have successfully shaved with the crappiest DE blades and still gotten good results, so it's not really that big of a deal. I just notice the Russian blades seem to last me 2x as long sometimes.
