Stay in your lane Fender
While I can't speak to these budget pedals, Fender has some killer multi effects pedals, and considering they make some fantastic amps, this is very much in their lane.

I have this pedal and am not really a fan. You can get a much better sound combining overdrive and distortion. Or maybe my amp sucks idk

Decided to look into it. Not sure if this is a good demo but all the sounds are basically fuzz/sludge maybe good for doom or stoner metal but otherwise doesn't seem "metal" in any capacity after like the sabbath and zeppelin eras. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_ilNaLcEaE

Damn, that sounds like shit. There's a reason it's half price.

I'm pretty sure it's not a clone of the Boss HM-2 Heavy Metal pedal used by Swedish death metal players, shoe gazers, and David Gilmour in the 80s. But it behaves similarly for me. I lean into the shoe gazer fuzzstortion side of things, something like a more behaved Big Muff. If I had lost or flipped it I would totally buy it again for $50. But it probably isn't for everyone.
