These are great scanners. I've deployed a few dozen of these and they're well made.

I've completely transferred to Adobe Scan for my cell phone to all my coping needs. Just a heads up to those who have never heard of it.

Is it completely free or is there some subscription bs involved

For what I use it for its completely free. Adobe always has their AI stuff they try to sell. I mainly use it for documentation that needs signed and sent back in. I can sign it, use the app to snap a photo and then crop the document with the app and it turns it into a document I can send via email, text, or just save for my records. It's been a real game changer.

Don't have this model specifically but those machines are really good for their specific use case. I assisted a medical office, wishing to digitize all client files (non-OCR) and I could not have imagined how long it would've taken with a regular scanner. These machines fly through the scans.

Microsoft Lens is also good. I think it is technically discontinued but I still use it.

Personally, I don't think any phone app is a 'good' replacement for anyone who needs the volume, speed, or accuracy of a hardware scanner but can be a great addition or work in place of a scanner if your document needs are minimal.
