The TCL QM6K Pro looks like a strong budget 75 inch mini LED TV for movies and gaming, with 312 local dimming zones, solid black levels, accurate HDR, and more consistent VRR than the comparable Hisense option. The Costco Pro version is described as using a QM7K style panel with better anti glare handling, while keeping QM6K level contrast, colors, and brightness. Google TV should handle streaming and IPTV apps, and Wi Fi 5 is not seen as a limitation for 4K playback. The main hesitation is value versus the U6 and the higher tier 7K, since the extra cost is harder to justify for some. A capable upgrade if you want better dark room performance and reflections control.

  • Costco members who stream 4K over Wi‑Fi because commenters say WiFi 5 isn't a dealbreaker and their TV works perfectly fine with 4K streaming, with 4K needing roughly 25-50 Mbps.

  • 75-inch buyers who want a strong "budget upgrade" for movies and everyday streaming because commenters say it's surprisingly capable for the price, even if it's not as good as the higher-tier 7K.

  • Home-theater focused viewers who care more about dark-scene blacks and HDR accuracy than peak brightness because commenters cite RTINGS-style comparisons saying the TCL side has better black levels and more accurate HDR, making it the better home-theater option.

  • People who want to use IPTV apps because commenters say the TV has Google TV, so IPTV apps should run just fine.

  • Gamers who want more consistent VRR and slightly faster pixel transitions because commenters report RTINGS-style feedback that the TCL has more consistent VRR and faster transitions, making it a bit better for gaming overall.

  • Buyers who mainly watch in very bright rooms with lots of glare because commenters point to RTINGS-style comparisons favoring the Hisense for brightness and glare handling, implying this TCL is less suited if glare is your top priority.

  • Viewers who are trying to justify paying about $200 more than the cheaper U6 option because one commenter says they still can't justify the extra $200 versus the U6.

  • Shoppers who expect a fully verified, widely reviewed model before buying because commenters note there's no RTINGS review for this specific model, even while discussing how it compares to other QM series sets.

  • People who are very sensitive to off-center viewing in dark scenes because commenters mention a 75-inch panel-size wrinkle (ADS Pro on the Hisense U6) affecting contrast/viewing angles, and they say dark-room movie blacks lean toward the TCL-so if you're optimizing for off-center contrast performance, you may find the tradeoffs matter.

Its WiFi 5. Isn't that a dealbreaker? At least if you have alot to stream too? Thats why I didn't get one. Comments??
I don't think so. Mine works perfectly fine even with 4k streaming. You will not see many TVs supporting Wifi6 and I don't think it's necessary.

I asked the same question two weeks ago. Here is what I got from chatgpt: The biggest picture-quality split is this: RTINGS says the Hisense is brighter and handles glare better, while the TCL has better black levels and more accurate HDR, which makes it the better home-theater option. RTINGS also says the TCL has more consistent VRR and slightly faster pixel transitions, so it is a bit better for gaming overall.
There is one important model-size wrinkle on the Hisense: recent coverage of the 75-inch U6 says that size uses an ADS Pro panel, which improves viewing angles but reduces native contrast versus the VA panels used in some smaller sizes. That matters because weaker native contrast can make dark-scene performance a little less satisfying, even if the TV gets brighter. If you sit wide off-center, that helps the Hisense; if you care most about dark-room gaming and movie blacks, it leans back toward the TCL.

This was $749 just a few days ago, so while discounted its not an impulse purchase here. Has anyone ever seen the 85" drop below its current $1,000 price point?

Thanks for the info, feel like still can't justify the 200$ more vs U6

I don't think this is accurate considering the Pro models from Costco have the crystal panels from the 7 and 8 series. There is no formal review for this model on RTINGS. I have this TV from the previous sale and I think it is great. My main is a Hisense U8G, and this is for the basement, both have their pros and cons.
