If this is my first Milwaukee tool do I need to buy battery charger or can I charge just the battery somehow without separate charger
I don't plan to buy many more Milwaukee stuff since I have Ryobi - this is just for my Offroad vehicle to be kept in the car

No, you will need a separate charger in order to charge the battery.

I'd look on craigslist or marketplace for a charger. People who are in the Milwaukie ecosystem often have extra charger to sell. After you buy several good deal packages that come with chargers, you end up with extra.
I'm on team yellow, but probably have like 8 or 9 chargers at this point. Agree that if you're new to the ecosystem there's not a lot of need to purposefully purchase a charger bundle, as folks already in the ecosystem are happy to sell one of their abundance for some beer money.
I haven't used this specific tool, but will say that I bought the team yellow version of it on a whim due to a good sale, and it turned out to be a much more useful tool than I had figured. Not needing to fiddle with cords or put up with the noisy compressor, now everything that even needs a bit of an air top up gets it quickly. The convenience matters much more than I would have given credit
$55 is a huge premium to pay for a charger imo. The $30 bump for Forge and higher capacity is definitely worth it.
Buy a couple more milwaukee kits and you'll probably be swimming in chargers or just get one off fb marketplace.
If you're already invested in another battery ecosystem, then the price differential for tool only in your ecosystem of choice and an entire kit with charger is a pretty big difference and may not make this very slick.
