I bought several Patagonia items from Dick's as part of the recent sales and I've returned all of it because everything I was sent was clearly a used returned item - discolored, pit stains, etc.
Kind of disgusting and I won't order from them anymore.

Not the easiest to zip up (I have had other parkas) and sizing is VERY loose in the sleeves and kinda relaxed in body. Patagonia sizing is weird, esp the windshdow, as I'd normally wear medium in other clothing brands but for Patagonia windshadow parka I wear XS which isn't even listed in dsg lol. For reference for Patagonia sizing weirdness, I have tried R1 air hoody medium: snug but not tight, expected as a midlayer. Torrenshell medium: relaxed, expected so I can fit midlayers. Nano puff medium: sleeves so long it covers my entire hands. Nano puff small: sleeves length right but waist too tight. And obv this one XS is my size...wtf Patagonia?

I wonder what kind of tech goes into these to make them worth $400 original price. But something more reasonable for Costco/BJs for $50 or less and pocket the savings. That's a real deal.

I have the predecessor of this jacket which was called the Lone Mountain. I took it to NYC back in Feb a week after their blizzard. It was beast. I didn't feel cold once with just a long sleeve Uniqlo heat tech underneath. I was cozy eating Adel's outside in 20 degree temps.

I have the non parka version of this and it's a great jacket. plenty warm even as we got into the negative temps. i actually picked this up the other day when they had it at $20x so hoping I can get a price adjustment. I agree the zipper is a bit awkward, and the windshadow does indeed run large too so size down one. id be hesitant to go down two sizes, parkas are supposed to be a bit oversized so you can layer appropriately

The parka is much warmer than the jacket. It has 200g vs 80g of fill

You're not lying! Maybe the biggest difference is that these might be cut better/more stylish or form fitting. But my $35 Costco coat definitely out perform my Patagonias and other "outdoor" name brand comparables.
