GOW 2018 is awesome, and personally I don't think you even need the backstory from the older games to enjoy it. Also, FYI Ragnarok is also available for PS4, and honestly it's one of those games where the visuals are great regardless...they aren't significantly enhanced on PS5

It is an amazing game -one of the best I've ever played! It, too, was an introduction to the series for me. Also, made pick up the first three (the N.D. collection) and the Lost Legacy expansion. The Nathan Drake Collection is well worth the dough and explains a few things in the fourth.
