Kashi GO Protein Original is a high fiber, high protein box cereal that lands closer to a filling breakfast than a kids cereal. The flavor is described as decent, with a relatively low 9 grams of sugar for a cup and a quarter serving and ingredients that feel fairly straightforward. The texture is crunchy, and the original can stand in for the peanut butter version when that is not on sale. It is not a low carb or keto cereal, and the fiber level may be more than some want in a daily bowl.
Common Questions (4)
No. It is not a low-carb or keto cereal, and it has 9g of sugar per serving, so it fits better as a higher-fiber, higher-protein box cereal than a keto option.
The peanut butter and chocolate versions are still being bought regularly without any noticeable change, suggesting the recipe has stayed the same over the past couple of months. The original flavor is also still considered a fine substitute when the peanut butter version is unavailable.
The original is described as a better everyday box cereal than colorful kids' cereals, with strong fiber and protein for the category. The chocolate version is crunchier and needs milk to soften, while the peanut butter version is the preferred flavor for mixing.
It can be very filling and may have a strong digestive effect because of the high fiber content. A practical approach is to try it at home first before eating it away from home.

I usually get both the peanut butter and chocolate on SS and then mix the bowl half and half. Peanut butter over chocolate, because the chocolate needs softened by the milk; it's much crunchier.
The high Fiber is no joke. Helps clean you out. I don't mix this with MCT oil because of that.

The high-protein, high-fiber version of Kashi will definitely clean you out, though, so try it in the privacy of your home for a day or two to see how your digestive system responds before going all in as I did. Thankfully, I work from home. 😬
