Be sure to check the SKU in the Home Depot app and look for boxes with that SKU higher up. Sometimes employees seem to hide clearance items for themselves and won't be too helpful to find them, but if you find it yourself they won't say no

These are basically a 18650 cell wrapped in ryobi plastic casing with a simple usb charger/port built in. $2battery with $0.5 plastic and charging circuits. Crazy profit margin

I'm just waiting for the PCB to show up on AliExpress so I can 3d print my own cases and make a bunch of them with even better cells.

That's pretty much every tool battery you're describing. cheap plastic shell with some circuitry and wires running to generic rechargeable lithium batteries.

Totally. One of the Home Depot employees confirmed this and was able to find me an item last month when it was on clearance sale. Sometimes it could be they still didn't unpack or some other employee hiding it to purchase later

Went in store and it was $27, only $7 off. It said "$18 online" but I couldn't figure out how to get that price.

I agree. The only reason I have one of these batteries is because they had a light on clearance for 10.00 that came with it. The battery (2ah) doesn't last long at all. I'm sure you could source the PCB if you bought one and took it apart to identify it. If you make the case let me know, I'll buy you lunch too.
