Community Reviews
Sony's refurbished WF 1000XM6 earbuds are drawing praise for near new condition and strong sound, with several reports that the units arrive cleaned, reset, and hard to distinguish from new. The biggest draw is improved noise cancelling and a more secure fit than the XM5, along with battery charge limit support and sound that needs little or no EQ. The main tradeoffs are the larger earbud and case size, a short 90 day warranty, and no Sony manufacturer coverage on refurbished units. Replacement tips may be needed for fit or comfort, making this a solid value if the warranty limits do not matter.

For those worried about earwax, the winning move is to throw away the tips and buy the better tips from Comply anyways. Thank me later. Enjoy.

And in my experience they will also reject this even if they are doing some type of broad factory defect replacement scheme.
I tend to have a lot of loud noise at home and at work however, and buds really help with that. So I needed something.
I had no experience with cheap buds. There are endless posts about people saying really good stuff about an entire ocean of off-brand buds that can even be less than $20. Then I saw the $70 Best Buy Galaxy Buds3 Pro... so I tried those out... returned... and picked up a couple sets of Baseus BP1 Pro's for about 10 dollars each after cashback. I saw a lot of people raving about these buds.
Like the Galaxy buds, they charge via stem, come with silicon tips, and the ANC is noticeably worse than the Sony XM. But aside from that, nothing at all about the Galaxy stem-style buds massively really outperformed the Baseus BP1's. Now, to their credit, because I'm an iphone user I did not tune the Galaxy buds, but the Baseus app is very straightward and certainly helps the buds shine. There's even a "find buds" option. ANC + find buds for $10, charging case, I cannot complain. You can turn on or off LDAC as well as low latency. You can also entirely program your own commands and control how the touch buttons work.
The snob in me says get the XM6's as the summer car, and keep the Baseus as the daily driver, but there's a good chance that a lot of the noise cancelling capabilities can be emphasized with foam buds... seems to be what people say.
I'd love some feedback on this from experienced earbud users, because I am very new to cheap buds and really have only used XM4's in terms of nicer buds. With produced audio, the BP1's sound -- actually -- great. I was listening to "It's my life" by Talk Talk and put it on bass mode, treble tuning, and it sounded so good, way more punch than I would have expected for cheap stem buds. I haven't found a way to make podcasts sound as good as the XM4, but other than that... I mean damn. Highly recommend Baseus refurb BP1 Pro's on ebay. Now to figure out if I'm going to be a seconddipity sucker again XD
