Checks all the boxes (light weight, 32 GB memory, 1 TB SSD, nice OLED display, backlight keyboard, USB 4.0, 14" screen size which I prefer over larger ones) .. but refurbished by seller, not manufacturer.
I know newegg is generally reputable, but this still feels like a risk.

Same, would rather have an open-box excellent. How important is Wifi-7 over what this has if I plan to use for 5-10 years?

This one kind of pales in comparison to the new Vivobook S14 (Ryzen 365 + 24gb + Oled) that was on sale for $750 a few weeks ago at Staples, but with how laptop prices are going maybe this isn't so bad anymore.

Refurb means it was sold to a customer and then returned - once it leaves the custody of a retailer it can't be sold as "new" - Newegg prob does a clean software install and diagnostic but doesn't replace wear items like the battery- with that said the Asus I bought refurb had less than 10 battery cycles on it and no blemishes - refurbished is a great way to get a discount

In the full description it does have Cosmetic Condition: Grade A (Excellent) to go along with the Condition: Good - Refurbished.

Slightly cheaper at $769.99 directly from Newegg [newegg.com], but you don't get the Allstate 1-year warranty. Also, I don't see anything on the Newegg product page about the refurbished condition being "good."

Idk I feel like at 650 or 700 this is a buy, but 785 seems like pushing it to me.

If someone could tell me I'm wrong here though, I'd appreciate it, as this definitely does check all the boxes.

In my experience, customer returns are usually labeled as "open box". Refurbished usually means some work needed to be put into fixing the product up before it could be sold. These could be customer trade-ins, used items picked up at auction, etc.

Buying refurbished means you have to trust that the refurbisher didn't miss anything that was broken or defective when they serviced the item.

Would definitely go the ebay route with the 1y allstate warranty. Ebay returns are generally easier as well, although it's been a while since I've bought/returned anything direct from newegg.
