This KitchenAid wall oven and microwave combo stands out as a strong value because delivery and install are included, and the 30 inch size is a useful fit detail for planning. The oven side gets some credit for lasting longer than the microwave, and the package can make sense if the price is the main draw. The biggest concern is reliability, especially the microwave, with reports of weak heating, repeated failures, touchscreen problems, and costly repairs. It reads like a practical deal only if you are comfortable with possible microwave trouble down the road.

  • The deal can make sense when delivery and install are included in the purchase price.

  • The combo can be worthwhile if install and haul-away are available and the unit stays trouble-free.

  • A long-running KitchenAid wall oven microwave combo can deliver generally good oven performance over many years.

  • California's parts availability law may improve long-term repair options for appliances priced over $100.

  • The built-in microwave can fail repeatedly, including magnetron or inverter issues that lead to costly repairs.

  • Microwave performance can be weak, including trouble heating items like popcorn.

  • Combo reliability risk can force replacing both units if the microwave fails before the oven.

  • Newer models may be less robust than older KitchenAid combos, even when older units performed well.

As someone who sold appliances and did kitchen design for about 10 years I would always to my best to talk customers out of a combo unit like this. Most ovens will far outlast the built in microwaves in these types of units. Better to get two separate units (a microwave plus a trim kit or if you have the space/power consider a speed cook, air fryer, microwave combo).
I agree. 30yrs selling and would never put a combo in my kitchen. The microwave will die well before the oven...then what? Replace it all because of the micro. Better off getting a double oven and putting a nice panasonic countertop microwave in the pantry.

Don't know when this appliance came out, but California law (went into effect on 2024) requires manufacturers to make parts, tools, and documentation available to consumers for seven years after the production of a device priced over $100.
Tell that to my whirlpool washer lady going on 3 months without a part for her washer. Or my Kitchenaid lady that waited 7 months for a control board on a dishwasher. Parts are getting worse.

What? Why's everyone complaining about the storage compartment not working? Where else to your extra serving bowls go? As long as the door opens you'll be fine Smilie

Jokes aside, if you consider the stove a good deal for $900 (probably true) and are OK using a different microwave after a year or so then why not. Personally I wouldn't and avoid stuff like this.

Mine hasn't died, but microwave sucks. Can't pop a bag of popcorn.

I have been looking for a combo unit as my GE Profile microwave died, after 17 years. It's the electronics that fails and home warranty just send me a check. Oven still works. This deal is great bc it includes delivery and install, which many places charge a lot. Too bad it's OOS for Dallas. The search continues. In the meantime, I just use a $100 microwave and $100 air fryer unit.

Magnetrons are pretty similar from one residential micro to the next... just need the configuration and power range the same. Regardless of the part number, it'll likely be replaceable with any number of similar ones with that same ID (2M240H, etc) Problem is actually figuring the designator ID number when manufacturer and documentation usually only give you their own internal part numbers. Best bet is to search part sources like parts websites and even ebay and amazon for generic replacements for your model and try to glean what part number they'll be sending.
