Private Selection 4 layer cake slices are a free in store bakery treat that can be found through Kroger family apps, often by searching cake slice and clipping the yellow View Offer banner. The offer appears across several banners and locations, including Kroger, Ralphs, Fred Meyer, QFC, and Frys, and the qualifying slices can include flavors like German chocolate, carrot cake, fudge, and tiramisu substitutions when stock runs out. The main catches are store specific availability and the need to grab the exact 4 layer slice, since similar cakes may not trigger the coupon. The cake itself is described as basic, with some slices coming off dry or bland.
The coupon can be found in the Kroger app by searching products like "cake slice" and using the yellow "View Offer" banner.
The offer can be redeemed through QFC or Fred Meyer apps by clipping the coupon, which supports convenient in-store pickup.
Some stores show plenty of qualifying flavors, and going early can improve the chance of finding multiple options.
Redeeming the free slice can help shoppers discover additional pickup coupons and build a larger basket with low payment.
The deal availability can vary by store chain, and the coupon may not carry over to Harris Teeter or Smith's locations.
Only specific "4 layer" cake slices qualify, and a nearly identical chocolate piece may fail without a cashier override.
The product can feel basic or have a smaller portion size than expected, which may reduce satisfaction if paying for the full cake.
Some flavor experiences are disappointing, including carrot cake that can be dry and almost flavorless.

The important thing is that I found a $30 off $75 pickup coupon when I went to clip the cake one. I rarely shop at Kroger, but thanks to the cake I ended up with a bunch of stuff and paid very little.
