Quote from food90680 :
I've had negative experiences with customer service representatives from the Philippines and India. There are significant communication barriers, as I often struggle to understand them and they seem to have difficulty understanding me. I believe companies should prioritize hiring Americans for these roles to improve communication and service quality. The current situation contributes to job losses for American workers.
Mr Food I assure you we are trying our hardest to assist you and make it a great day for you. You have my guarantee. Eye roll... Note, this is what Verizon says when I call. I assume it's the same for tmobile these days too.

Has anyone ever scored a deal like this in Sam's Club to avoid the $35 connection charge?

I cannot caution you strongly enough to RUN from this scam company. I tried it for four days before realizing it was garbage in my area. I cancelled immediately and returned the equipment well within the "15 day risk free trial" period. They overbilled my account and refused to refund the money. I charged it back through my bank and they added a late payment charge. Mind you, the total bill amount should have been ZERO this entire time. I have spent hours on the phone with their scam call center reps because they will not do anything via email or chat so there is no paper trail for their scam. I have a formal complaint filed with the FCC and am looking into legal civil action against them.

I took the leap and switched from Xfinity to T-mobile internet about three months ago. Got the free month no problem, and the rebate came in after about 3 months. Didn't have to call anyone, everything worked out perfectly (to my surprise!). My cell account was grandfathered to T-mobile from the Sprint Unlimited Kickstart plan, which is a significantly discounted plan, so I was pretty sure this deal was going to be denied. It went through ($300 rebate at the time) and I'm glad I tried! Hope it works for you as well

They will not honor it. You would end up having to file multiple complaints

I tried this for 12 days, and cancelled it (cancellation process was super smooth). But they charged me for the first month (a few days after cancelling). Had to follow up a couple of times with their support to get the refund, which I think will now finally happen after I reached out on X/Twitter. But super frustrating - be prepared to waste some time getting the refunds as they will surely charge you (i returned the equipment at a local store - whole process was easy but very time consuming - had to wait as they have pathetic processes, while the staff was good).

Becareful with the rebate. I signed up for this back in October of 2025, for the $300 rebate, and it took a long time only to be declined. I told T-Mobile that I wanted to make sure that the service doesn't slow down or get significantly throttled if people in my area were significantly using data. They upgraded me to T-Mobile 5g business, sent me a business class router device, and assigned a static ip (no cgnat)...so because of this, the rebate was no longer valid because I was no longer on the a residential plan, with dynamic ip, and cgnat. I actually pay slightly more for the business class service and priority guarantees, but lost out on the rebate because it took 20weeks to process. I was told the rebate would still be valid, but unfortunately the T-Mobile rep lied to me...

I've never in my life had to work harder to cancel service than I did with the T-Mobile 5G internet. It worked great, but man, I lost at least a dozen hours trying to follow all their cancel and return steps (only certain stores take the returns, have to cancel via 1-hour long wait times to the call centers, have to have codes that only stores can provide via your ID, etc..)

If you live in Missouri and was eligible for T-Mobile internet before and now it says you're not, from what I hear is Missouri is currently investigating T-Mobile for overcrowding their towers in certain areas. (You're lucky to get over 5Mb during peak hours). It's like AOL all over again, but instead of constant busy signals when dialing in, you're just screwed on getting broadband from their towers.

At this price wouldn't a mini-Starlink system be a better alternative? Or if you don't mind the upfront hardware price go for a full size Starlink system

I've had this service for about two years along with Comcast coax in an active/active setup. I send all IPV6 to Comcast and 33% of IPV4 to Tmobile (which isnt much) and it can fail back and forth automatically as needed. Two of us work from home and the redundancy is worth the cost to me. TMobile does CGNAT and will not offer a bridged mode or give you any IPV6 space you can use so native IPV6 behind your own router is a lost cause. My signal is not great at my location and I get speeds and latency all over the place but it is good enough, I think the most I ever used in one month was 700GB and and far better than using my phone as a hotspot.
I had no problem getting my rebate but that was 18 months or so ago, things may have changed.

Just got rebate of $300 after two months. I just canceled my service because WELO is cheaper at $30 a month for Gig speed
