I have this exact engraver and I think it is considered low end. I've had a lot of fun with it as a beginner. It engraves really well on wood and tumblers. I've also tried on metal rings and it doesn't do as well (probably more user error). But for this price and if you're a beginner, I think it is worth it!

I've used it for tumblers, leather, and cutting/engraving wood projects. As I told another user, I tried on metal and I am still working on settings, but it doesn't seem to work as well on that (I know some is probably user error). Good beginner laser at a good price here.

This might a silly question, but can I engrave onto 3D printed objects with this? I'm printing a few things that require a serial number and thought about engraving it on rather than having to change each print

I haven't personally done 3D prints, but there are many Youtube videos that show you can with this particular machine. That will be my next material to try out. I've been interested in it too.

It might have a hard time with something that thick. You would have to increase the number of passes and try.
