I bought this one and here are some issues I got:
- wifi at home is good, at school, I don't know why it got disconnected very often.
- Unable to dual boot with Arch: the machine didn't see the bootloader in a separate Linux EFI partition or even in the Windows EFI partition.
Everything else is great.

Decent specs, but the deal isn't that slick. I'm no computer expert, but this processor and GPU benchmark well below a comparable Intel ultra 7 and Nvidia 40xx which I got for an additional $100 in an Acer Helios a couple months back.

If I want a dedicated external monitor rig I'd look at the 14" footprint, personally.

If this laptop has a non-soldered Wi-Fi card I recommend swapping it for Intel AX210

Bought this last week. Great machine for the price. 32gb ram at this price in an otherwise good machine is hard to find these days.

I think HP shot themselves in the foot when they stopped competing with Dell and went into cheap mass produced integrated boards with zero upgradeability and repairability. They don't even have one single model with SODIMM RAM - everything is soldered to the board now with them.
No, thanks. I don't want the "higher" speeds. I want the upgradeability and if I burn it - I want to be able to replace it. Until they switch back, I will stick to another assembler.
And on top of everything they still have same quality control problems from 20 years ago. They retired the ENVY line for some cheap but higher margin lines and think all of us are fools. FFS, how hard it is to put out there a configuration of 64GB SODIMM, i7 or i9 Ultra, GF RTX 5070 or 5080, 1TB SSD, WiFi7 and good screen. It ain't rocket science!

I am not a huge fan of HP, but I need a reasonably capable laptop to use occasionally at home and for personal travel. I couldn't find another AMD AI 7 350 with 32gb ram and 1TB ssd anywhere else. Not a stellar screen resolution, but it's ips which for my use is perfectly fine.
