Samsung's Galaxy Tab A11+ is being framed as a solid everyday Android tablet with strong value at around $200, especially for normal tasks and Samsung's extra preinstalled features. The six years of Android updates and seven years of security updates stand out, and the 6GB RAM version is seen as a better long term bet than cheaper alternatives. The main knocks are Samsung's bloatware, including AppCloud and other preinstalled apps, plus concerns about how much can be disabled or removed. It is a practical pick if you want Samsung features and long update support without chasing a premium tablet.

Common Questions (5)

  • It comes with Samsung's extra apps and features preinstalled, including AppCloud and One UI extras. Some of those apps can be uninstalled, disabled, or ignored, but Samsung software is still a major part of the tablet experience.

  • It is described as good for normal everyday use such as general apps and routine tasks. It is not the best fit for heavier workloads like gaming or video editing, and the 6GB RAM / 128GB configuration is aimed more at mainstream use than power-user work.

  • Yes, many Samsung apps can be uninstalled, disabled, or simply ignored. Some comments note that a few Samsung apps may still remain active or reappear after updates, so fully cleaning it up can take extra effort.

  • The A11+ is described as faster in CPU and GPU performance and has much longer update support, while the onn Pro 12.1 is described as cheaper with a better screen and less bloat. If update longevity matters more, the Samsung is the stronger pick; if price and a cleaner Android setup matter more, the onn is the alternative.

  • The A11+ is listed as getting six years of Android updates and seven years of security updates, with one comment stating support runs until the end of 2032. That long update window is a key reason to choose it over cheaper tablets with less clear support.

Walmart onn pro 12.1 is comparable to this tablet with maybe a slightly slower cpu but a better gpu and screen and it's cheaper. Open box versions go on sale for ~$120 regularly and brand new price is 179. There is no bloat like a samsung or a motorola android device either.
The A11+ is 40% faster in CPU and 2.5x faster in GPU comparing to Onn Pro 12.1. The A11+ is performing like a 2022 flagship and the Onn is like 2017/2018 flagship. You must have get some spec mixed up.

And now with A.I.
They've even crammed it down the throat of Samsung monitor owners, not just smart TVs. My A9+ is well behaved without a Google account, other than the Samsung apps that cannot be disabled crying about it. More bloatware on the Samsung than any device I've purchased or sold, but then again, I don't do Apple.

I find android more customizable than iOS. It always has bloatware though like Google which is so hard to get rid of.
Google & Android are basically 1 and the same. It's akin to Apple and iOS. Android is Google's baby. Google literally created the Android OS, the same as Apple created iOS.

You mean a Pixel tablet? In a round about way, nearly all Android tablets including this Samsung, are Google tablets. Android to Google is the same as iOS is to Apple. Google does make there own line of tablets, and those are called Pixels, but Google Pixels are also Android devices. It probably sounds more confusing than it is.

Personally, I don't like the direction the Onn brand is starting to head.

This A11+ offers six years of Android updates and seven years of security updates. How many years of updates is Walmart promising?
What direction is Onn going?

Their newest model TVs require one to sign in with a Walmart account before you can use them.

Their new version of their 4K Pro streaming device has dropped the USB 3 port that was on the previous model and replaced it with USB 2 while increasing the price $10-15.

I'm not sure what their end goal is as to providing what kind of experience to their customers, but I have a hunch we will be able to find a better one elsewhere.

I'm looking for a decent tablet with a pen, preferably for drawing and maybe some gaming. I know this doesn't have a pen, just thought someone might have some ideas.
Cuz i was thinking of just going back to tab S8 ultra for $300 or something.. but updates for that one expires soon. Another one Im looking at is Xppen magic drawing tablet, or the Lenovo idea pad pro...

This or Google tablet? What do you think?
Without a doubt... you should get the Pixel Tablet. And here are a few reasons to why....

1. Which one is more powerful...
The Pixel Tablet is more powerful

2. Bloatware...
The amount of bloatware on a Samsung device is EXTREME... so much so that there are so many issues with os updates and security because of it.

3. Spyware...
ZERO spyware on google tablet and Samsung has made a Billion dollar deal with a third party that can not INSTALL SOFTWARE on your device without your permission... it is called APP CLOUD and this is the FIRST tablet that it came pre installed on in the USA.

4. Security Updates...
You may think... but ON PAPER my Samsung will be up to date SO MUCH LONGER... and that is it, on paper but in REALITY... in 2025, Samsung devices were the most vulnerable EVEN the ones that were up to date... why, because 50% of google updates do not make it to your device due to conflicts with Bixley and then there are THOUSANDS of Bixley errors that make you even more exposed. If anyone thinks the 5 years of Samsung updates means anything... they are completely wrong.

5. Debugging and eliminating spyware (NOT so easy and not possible)....
You need to use USB ADB debugging (need a PC with microsoft) and you can spend like 20+hours trying to disable and delete stuff but it still does not delete Appcloud cause it is built into the Bixley OS itself?????? Also, this is more for experts, cause you don't want to delete something important.

6. More about Security Updates....
Samsung has waited OVER A YEAR in many situations before they actualy give you the update. This has happened very recently regarding Google's playstore SYSTEM updates which Samsung has blocked for over a year!!! THAT IS CRAZY!!!! Especially since Google updated it so it can not be hacked.

OK... So Pixel Tablet is FASTER, the GPU is FASTER and when google sends an update YOU GET IT IMMEDIATELY!!! You get ALL the updates!

To me it is a no brainer.... wait for the Pixel to go on sale at $250 and JUMP.

This Samsung does not have a pen and does not work with any pens, including Samsung's pen.

Realize that Samsung's updates don't mean much... because they never give you all the updates and your tablet is vulnerable, in 2025 Samsung devices were the most vulnerable with even zero click viruses.

Also, you are talking about this tablet and then pointing to a 14.6" tablet????

If you want a 14.6" tablet buy the S8 or S9... I am pretty sure you will be happy.

Does this have the usual Samsung mobile device bloatware?
Being their LOWEND tablet... this was the FIRST tablet sold in North America with the SPYWARE called "APPCLOUD". Samsung is the KING of bloat and spyware.

what... WHHHAAAATTTTTT????!!!!!!!

Google has NO bloatware or should I say, google spies on you through their OS... (gmail, google, etc....) just like apple spies on you and microsoft spies on you. But a tablet made by google is suppose to have ZERO spyware and ZERO bloatware.

It is every company that makes a android tablet except google that installs the bloatware and spyware... and yes, they install this so they can inundate you with adds such as what gmail does.

There are some tablets that are known to have very little bloat and spyware installed. Such as Redmagic (my favorite tablet), Lenovo is not as bad as samsung (I do have the Tab S9), Honor and many others, especially some Chinese models which have zero bloat and zero spyware such as iplay 60 turbo (which I also have).
