I have only had the black mug personally. The mug itself is dishwasher safe, but in my case, the photos were not (because of the dishwasher). I gifted a friend a white mug, which has been only hand washed, and 6yrs later with regular use, photos are fine Smilie

I had one done a couple of weeks ago.
They did it with rthe Kodak Moments machine.
They told me it was ready but when I arrived they had printed it but not applied on the mug.
It's thermal sublimation process. Then they place the paper on the much and put it in a press for a few minutes so the image transfers from the paper to the mug.
Then they dunk it in water for a few minutes to cool it down and it's ready.
The process is shown here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PoFW1CLr20
