Recently I started running low on my RAID 1 and considered buying another 14TB and converting to RAID 5, but was shocked at prices. I refuse to pay more per TB now than years ago.
Decided to dedupe my files to get by for now. Found a surprising number of duplicate stuff and needed to organize stuff better anyhow.
Remember that all shortages are followed by gluts. When the AI bubble bursts and the many failed projects go bankrupt, there will be a ton of overcapacity plus a flood of used equipment with not enough buyers to soak up. We will see historic low prices. No idea when that will occur, but it might be a year or two.
BTW- I'm selling all the computer stuff that's laying around now that the market is hot.
