Had this and had one small rock come in and blow a hole right through the thin plastic housing. I guess that means it does have decent suction, but just make sure a stray small rock is nowhere near your path. I just wish it had an aluminum housing that could withstand a small beating.

It's a great second unit. I like it for vacuum leaves in garden beds and tight areas. It also compacts leaves by shredding and mulching them. Im happy I have it but probably wouldn't buy it again.
