This appears to be another Lowe's error. They've placed this Metabo HPT kit on sale. Kit includes a 2.0 Ah battery and a charger. However, there's also a free gift with purchase. Free gift is the Metabo HPT 36v 2.5 Ah / 18v 5.0 Ah battery. This battery is compatible with Metabo HPT's 36 volt tools.

This deal also appears to be hackable. In cart the price for the Brad nailer is about $152.00, and the free battery is about $97.00.

Free in store pickup and may qualify for free delivery. Subject to local availability. This is a Lowe's Deal of the Day. Deal expires in about 25 hours.

Why does it seem like a mistake? I feel like that's probably a normal deal.

Also there are two versions of the 18 gauge one with air spring and one mechanical.

This is a really good deal, actually. This is the air spring nailer, one of the best cordless nailers out there, and anywhere $200 and below is a solid deal on it. $50 is a good price for the Multivolt too. That also makes this a pretty good kit for anyone looking to get into MHPT which has great tools at often great prices.

Note if you do hack it (which reportedly is problematic at Lowes these days) the top-line HPT 4ah/8ah tabless battery is still $120 (https://www.lowes.com/pd/Metabo-H...5016158311 ) and getting this setup with that for $270ish is a ridiculous deal.

Just realized this is the new air brad nailer. We've only seen the mechanical one go on sale around the $150 price.

My take on this after having this nailer and retuning it: it's too bulky for an 18ga trim nailer. The tip is not fine, so when nailing inside corner baseboard as an example, it's very difficult to get it into the corner. I have a Dewalt pneumatic brad nailer and it has a very fine tip that allows exact placement. I struggled with this and found myself going back to my air nailer. It's a nice tool, but just too bulky for trim work.
