Klein's self adjusting wire stripper and cutter is praised as a handy upgrade for residential electrical work, especially on Romex and ladder jobs where it strips consistent lengths and feels easier than plier style tools. The design gets credit for cleaner, faster cuts than old school strippers, and it handles thicker audio cable and regular home use well. The main caveats are that it can struggle with 12 gauge outdoor wire, some pairs feel finicky or inconsistent, and the deal looks less compelling where the same tool has been seen cheaper in store.

I bought the cheap Walmart version. Has anyone tried these?

I used these when installing LED recessed ceiling lights and found them to be invaluable when working on a ladder. For me, much better than the plier type strippers. Very easy to use and made consistent length, stripped ends to the Romex.

I use these regularly and love them! They're not the best for 12 gauge outdoor wire though. They don't do the best job as it rips the shiny coating on the individual wires but doesn't pull the sleeve off itself. Everything else residentially speaking I've found they work great!

Already out of stock around me. This is the Klein 11061. I have the 11063 and not super sure of the functional difference, other than this one explicitly talks about cutting Romex.

This style of wire stripper will come in handy more than you can know. BUT I have a set of Kronos from Radio Shack days, and I'd much rather have a pair that have crimp notches on the inside of the handle and not just a wire cutter. I'm not commenting on the deal aspect, but you can find this same style that can also crimp insulated and non-insulated terminals. I wouldn't buy these just for that reason.

I bought these a few years back, fantastic tool and design compared to the old school strippers I used for thirty years.

Generally this type of strippers are highly rated but oddly it's only 3.9 stars

Quite a few "incentived" reviews and 1-stars ratings from purchased reviews.

Skip the walmart variants and go with Klein. If you ever make more than 1 cut/splice, you'll be glad you did
