I've got this and use it daily.
Love it.
I will say I had to send it in for repair when the steam wand puttered out - but I was sent a box and shipping label and turnaround time was very quick.

How soon after purchasing did that happen and did they cover shipping both ways? My 870XL just went out after 8 years and I'm debating whether to get another Breville or another machine in the $1500-2000 range

I have the same Breville and it has worked really well. Mine is going on 7 years and has worked flawlessly. If I had to replace I'd get the Breville pro model for faster heating although the time to heat has never been an issue for me. It's hard to justify one of those really expensive machines as I'm not enough of a coffee connoisseur to notice any improvements.

Agree, I am tempted to just buy the same machine or this Pro, but also want to try a Rocket machine to see what the hype is like and if the price difference is justified. Thanks!

8 years is a helluva run. It was about 3 years in.

I've had one of these for almost 6 years. Never skipped a beat if you just flush and descale when it asks you to. My only two gripes are that the steam/water knob feels very cheap and the steam wand holes clog up every now and again (I guess that's why it ships with a hole poking tool).
I've heard the grinder on these sucks, but I've never tried another grinder or felt compelled to. The flat whites I've made almost daily for years taste great to me.

Been comparing as well. I'm not really a coffee head. I just want a quick and less of a hassle machine that can make a good coffee. I am leaning towards getting the touch impress at the moment.

Make coffee with a Breville is light years ahead in terms of taste vs Nespresso

I think the grinder is great. And apparently the newer ones ship with an even better grinder.

I've had no problem dialing my shots in on this.

I'm a bit of a coffee snob and I love mine.

Your favorite local coffee roaster espresso blend beans.
I have this and a Nespresso. I will be lazy and use the Nespresso sometimes but it doesn't compare to the drinks I make with the Breville.
