This Hogwarts Castle and Grounds set is best as a display build, with a fun construction experience and a finished model that looks even better with lights. It includes a minifig, but the scale is too small to work well as a true playset, and it is not the biggest Hogwarts castle version. Price history undercuts the current deal, with past purchases around $117 and Target pricing below $120, though rewards can improve the effective cost. A solid display piece if play value is not the priority.

Common Questions (3)

  • It is a model build and display set, not a very playable playset. It includes a minifig, but the build is better suited to display than active play because it would need to be much larger to function like a true playset.

  • No. This Hogwarts Castle and Grounds set is smaller than LEGO 71043, which is the larger Hogwarts castle model and sells for about $460.

  • Yes. Adding lights makes the castle look even better and enhances it as a display piece.

Seems like a ton of bot comments on this. This isn't even a great deal. I bought this at Amazon this time last year for $117. Target has also had this in the past 6 months for under $120 w/ redcard.

Amazon just slapped a label on the Lego boxed and shipped it to me. The box is smashed up and scratched. I'm sending it back, wtf.

Never had this happen when I bought shipped and sold by Amazon.com. I've had multiple Lego boxes where they had an exterior brown cardboard lego box and a label may have been on that, but never right on the regular printed box. Maybe you got unlucky.
I've bought $3k+ worth of Legos from Amazon.

This set looks like really tiny pieces to me, I'll get a bigger one if I ever get a hogwarts set.

For anyone who builds and stores their sets, there's an app called BrickBag that has the complete bag-by-bag parts list for thousands of LEGO sets. Once you build it you can sort everything back into the original numbered bags for clean storage, display rotation, or resale.

You have to unselect 'Reduce packaging, ship in manufacturer's container' else it will do that for certain items.

FYI this is a model build and not a playset with minifigs
It would have to be 3x bigger then this to use as a play set

This is a great set. It looks even better when you add some lights to it.
