pretty good deal for the capacity. I was shopping for one last week and 23qt from any brand, including the super no names, couldn't be had for this without a $50 shipping fee. Thankfully my 10 year old Whynter wasn't toast, just corroded in one of the compartments from being sealed for 4 years with condensate in the bottom.

Put it on my screened porch and would have bought something else had the whynter been a total loss. Hard to beat a top load fridge/freezer that sips power and doesn't even have to cycle after reaching in for a water bottle. Keeping me alive during yard renovations while the mosquitoes and ants try their best to have otherwise

For long trips, does anyone have feedback on how this compares to buying a Yeti Cooler and stocking it with ice for perishable foods and beverages?

I have this and think it's way better than a cooler stocked with ice. Yes, it's more expensive, but for a car ride the power is effectively "free" as I just keep mine plugged into the 12v outlet in my car, and because there's no ice, stuff doesn't get all waterlogged over time due to ice melting. Also, don't have to purchase ice periodically and re-do your cooler. I use mine at an off grid campsite and plug it into an ecoflow power station and it's very efficient with power use.

The only negative is you pretty much have to keep it powered. Once you turn off power, you basically have a few hours before the temperature spikes too high to be temperature safe for stuff that needs fridge temps or lower, more or less depending on how often you open it up to get stuff out and if it was keeping frozen food or just chilled food.

Also, while it's powered, putting new, room temperature or warmer food into it will spike the temperature up almost immediately as the machine now has to cool down the new food. I use mine as a beverage cooler and I notice that if it was half to 2/3 full of drinks and keeping a running 40F temp, adding new drinks to fully fill the cooler up will spike the temperature to 55+ F within minutes, and it takes an hour to get it back down to 40F. You basically don't have the same residual bulk cooling mass that a bag of ice provides, but you also don't have the negatives of the ice.

I assume these are not SFL beach friendly? Considering the sand and heat.

Thanks for the heads up!! Opted for the 53qt wheeled version for $200 plus tax after coupon code. Item description says model is CRD2 dual zone but all the pictures are of CRS single zone version. Would be a steal if it was the upgraded one but not likely. Still really great deal in my opinion. https://ebay.us/m/vBUmt9
