I have three cross-body bags that I primarily use to carry my stuff when it's hot (prefer not to have wallet/phone in my pockets) or I'm taking my Kindle somewhere. One is nicer leather, one is very small and nylon, and the third is Carhartt's cross body snap bag [carhartt.com] in Gravel. The last is my favorite.
I'd been looking around for a more casual/flexible bag for a while when I saw someone on the street with what seemed like exactly what I wanted. I was a little surprised to see the Carhartt logo, but when I looked it up online, it checked all the boxes. Good internal organization, wide/comfortable strap, metal hardware, able to fit a Kindle and light jacket without looking huge. I have backpacks if I need more room.
Anyway, if I were looking for something smaller, I'd definitely consider this one.
