Thank you. Been collecting his entire Discworld collection and now the rest of his works, Mort and Hogfather I thoroughly enjoyed, but everything else suggested to me Discworld-wise has been a lletdown albeit with some salvageable parts here and there.

If you're new to Discworld, look up a reading order guide and note that the first book, The Color of Magic, isn't necessarily the best one to start with. Guards! Guards! and Mort are often suggested as better starting points.

Quoting a post I made during a Humble Bundle deal earlier this year that had all Discworld novels for $16 DRM-free:

I was a huge Douglas Adams fan back in high school/college, and it was very common to have Discworld recommended to fans of his. I read The Color of Magic in my early 20s, and something about it turned me off, so I didn't continue. Fast forward ~20 years, and I decided to take another run at the series with no expectations related to Adams or anything else, and I was slightly surprised to find I loved it from the first book. I've been reading them every other (Discworld, something else, Discworld) in chronological order, and I recently finished #37.

As with any series (especially one this long), I have minor nitpicks, but one of the many things I like is how Pratchett kept introducing new characters and situations late in the run. After book 30, he could have easily kept doing more stuff with Sam, Granny, Death, Rincewind, and the other regulars. Instead, he kept introducing new (and very good) characters like Tiffany Aching and Moist von Lipwig while still giving cameos to the more established characters.

The series is terribly clever and entertaining, but the satirical parts are what make it (and Adams's work) stand out to me. I'm a bit of an econ nerd, and seeing something like the Sam Vimes Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness [terrypratchett.com] stated so succinctly and relatably warms my heart.

There are 41 of them, but Last Hero only available in paper in US.
Ebook is available in UK though: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Last-Her...00WERXEVE/

Was the Humble Bundle DRM free? I thought the books had to be redeemed on Kobo?

Thanks, it looks like I could buy a hardcover copy in the UK and have it shipped to the US for less than I'd pay here. The other I was missing was Raising Steam that was just added to the $1.99 sale at Kobo, Kindle and Google books. Picked it up and my life and collection is (almost) complete! 😅
